Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture.

It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

At first, the hip-hop dance idea was ridiculed and seen as just another dance form from black folks acting the fool.

It was difficult to recognize hip-hop dance as text because it was discounted.

This beginner class is a fun way of learning creative and 'funky' dance moves. We will focus on basic and advanced level body movements.

Running shoes and comfortable clothing should be worn.

The evolution of jazz dance is as exciting as the dance form itself. American choreographer Agnes de Mille described the vital spirit of jazz dance as "the true American pep, creativity, and fun".

Jazz dance has been greatly influenced by social dance and popular music - especially jazz music.

The two jazz forms evloved together, each ecoing and affecting developments in the other.

The origings of jazz music and jazz dance are found in the rythms and movements brought to America by African people.

In Africa, every event of any consequence was celebrated and expressed in music and dance.
